I recently attempted skiing for the first time, 12 months since my ACL injury, and I was able to navigate green and blue slopes successfully with no pain or discomfort. Skiing for 12 hours on one day, covering over 25km, I did not experience muscle fatigue, burn, pain or discomfort. I was amazed! When day 3 fatigue set in, causing reduced control of the quads, hips and legs (I stacked a few times, spectacularly, but no injuries!), I was able to reset, recall and apply the principles of consciously engaging the VMO, Psoas and Lats to regain improved balance and control.
I have learned so much about my body through explicit instruction, guided support, and personal connection. Marta has also worked directly with my Physiotherapist to ensure that there was a shared understanding of my progress and a collaborative approach to my rehabilitation and improvement.

A number of injuries to my knees had been impacting my daily functions.

Before starting with Marta & her team, I had suffered decades of chronic knee pain and swelling from numerous falls, a left knee dislocation with tears on both sides of my cartilage and ruptured bursa in the right knee. This led to arthritis in both knees, poor mobility and inability to kneel. I had been put in many exercise and rehabilitation programmes, but all led to more damage, swelling, chronic pain and days or weeks of recovery.
In the first few weeks, I experienced not only a decrease in knee pain, but gradually have regained more mobility. Since then I have been able to stand longer and walk more with increased mobility, stability and strength, but most of all my knees have been fairly pain free and I now enjoy a more active life.
